The End Of Olde Furrow Farm

One thing we can say for sure is we ran our business with our hearts. We didn't try to over-intellectualize the process of working with the land but rather listen and see. We let mistakes become opportunities, we let tears turn into laughter, we let go of what we must and held on to what we could. We dreamt of spreading nourishment grown with love from the deepest parts of ourselves. We let the artist within us run free. So much goodness was had in these 14 years.

The last couple of years have been tremendously tumultuous but I consider this a period "separating the wheat from the chaff" a very important process of life that we tend to undervalue in preference for a "state of permanent perfection". We have taken this time to get incredibly clear on what kind of life we want to live and how to make that possible while holding onto our values.

One of the hardest things we had to consider was completely walking away from the land we have worked for all these years which is owned solely by Adam's parents with no real succession plan in place. With Adam & I in our mid 30's we had to get serious about the security of our future and our biggest insecurity was reaching our 50s and realizing the land/farm would be lost or sold leaving us starting from scratch. So instead of waiting for something of that nature to possibly unfold we decided now is the time to build a more secure future for ourseleves.

During this past year Adam has found a heart-home at Tangled Garden working with people that notice the beauty of the natural world like he does. He took a leap of faith and found a path that feels good walking. I have gotten to witness all the heart-waking and recognition of his true self that has been taking place. We used to joke that Adam was like a turtle in spirit - well this turtle had poked his head out and is basking in the sun!

As we age we want to set roots down on our own piece of land. A place where we can flourish and not feel in a perpetual state of stagnation, never really getting to forge forward in the ways we dream too. We see lots of plants and growing in our future, lots of sharing and loving in our future, lots of working and dreaming in our future. We see the more beautiful world our hearts know is possible.

It has been an incredible gift to nourish so many people and be nourished by so many people. We have made some incredible lifelong friends that have helped us tremendously during this time. We have no regrets and can't wait to see the life that unfolds before us! So much love!
